twas a dark and stormy night.........
This was actually taken on a fairly nice day. I made a layer copy, Used levels (or curves, can't remember) to make the sky bright blue. That gave that whole layer a dark look. changed the blending mode to difference tweaked the hue and saturation and added some lightning I learned to make at a Bert Moneroy seminar. Looks kinda cool. Have not been able to do it again since.

If you hadn't said I'd have believed it was real! Clever you!
Gail Wiley: Thanks Bill. I just wish I remember what I used to darken the layer before the difference mode. Have not been able to do it again. Perhaps this one was ment to be.
You made a believer outta me, Gail! Brilliantly done, even if you can't remember what you did!
Gail Wiley: Thank you dear. I really need to write this stuff down.
Very nice job with the processing. Looks very cool with all those lightning strikes and the dark and heaviness of everything!
Gail Wiley: Thanks Kathryn, I am rather proud of this one. I have it printed up on canvas and it looks really cool.
Gail this is fantastic, well done.hope you can do it again.
Gail Wiley: Thank, me to.
Looks really good. Where's the axe murderer? Look out, he's behind you! All the best, Dave.
Gail Wiley: it does look kind of scary dosn't it. thanks for the comment.
It made a spectacular image. I like the brown toning and the lightning is something else! Keep trying some things out and you may recover the path!
Gail Wiley: Thanks Don. So glad you like it. That wasn't my original goal. I was trying to put in a nice blue sky. got the sky right and was looking for a blending mode that would flatter it and when I saw what difference did, I liked it and thought.....Storm! It developed it's self from there.
Fantastic !!! Un traitement d'image remarquable. J'aimerais pouvoir en faire autant. Unable to say it in english
Gail Wiley: Je suis heureux ainsi que vous l'aimez. Merci pour vos commentaires.
very dramatic Gail, I like it. mal
Gail Wiley: Thanks Mal. Glad you like it.
This is absolutely wow!
Gail Wiley: Thank you Trudie. That is quite a compliment
thats a super effort Gail
Gail Wiley: Thanks. Glad you like it.
Gail does the canvas print look as good as the image. i would like to get some of my pics done on canvas.
Gail Wiley: The canvas is awsome and goes through the inkjet. I use Legion Premium Canvas 13x19. I think you can find it smaller and in rolls. I love it.
Looks really cool, it took me a while to decide if it is original or PP
Gail Wiley: That means a lot, thank you. It kind of lead me to where it wanted to go.
Impressive one really !
Gail Wiley: Thanks. Glad you like it.
Wow! A great work! Very well done. I like!
Gail Wiley: Thanks Jose. Thank you very much.
Wow! What a dramatic image!
Nice processing... but still realistic enough to fool me! Amazed by what you achieved here... sound easy but must be a lot of work.
Gail Wiley: Most of it was pure chance. Just clicking away trying stuff. The lightning, I learned at a seminar by Bert Moneroy. (who is awsome). The photo pretty much told me what it wanted to be. So glad you enjoy it.
Ok please tell me how you did the lightning. What you have done is amazing. Brilliant outcome!!
Gail Wiley: Not only can I tell you, I can show you. Go to http://revision3.com/pixelperfect/lightning . There is a video by Bert Monroy that shows you how to do the lightning and more. This guy is awsome. Take time to view the rest of his videos. You will learn a lot. Glad you like it.
Gail, this is a nice shot. I like the grains on the wood and the perspective of your composition.
Gail Wiley: Thank you very much. So glad you enjoy it.
Superb, dramatic image! Very well done - so realistic.
Gail Wiley: Thank you. I got lucky....lol.
WOW, G Dubyah, That is worth a second download(just kidding).
Its bad enough you go and take an amazing shot like that, then I see you used a Leica. How does it handle(the V-LUX)?
Gail Wiley: The Leica is an artists camera. It takes amazing landscapes, studio shots, does nice at weddings. However, it dosn't do real well with action shots or at higher ISOs. All in all though, I love it. It has been a good camera for me.
Thanx. Have always oogled anything Leica. Nice touch.
