I am not much on sports nor do I know flip about sports photography, but these certainly look as good as any as I've seen. Although, I do admit, I have not seen many.

4 shots out of hundreds are better than no shots out of hundreds. Keep at it and congrats on the job.

I think the concentration on his face is great, too and it begs the question "Did he score?"

There's nothing wrong with todays post nor yesterdays but if your going to continue to shoot sports shots then you need to invest in some pretty good glass and yes a faster camera, there's just no way around it. This is a good static sports shot that could be better if you included all of his left foot and a little less of the crowd unless the picture editor ask to see the crowd for some reason.

To take even better shots then you will need to know at least a little bit about the sport so you know when to anticipate the action.

Looks like you were almost sitting/standing close to the corner, the better spot would be on the baseline but a lot of schools don't have room under there for a photographer to stand so try for a corner base line shot which should work well. Hope that helps.

Gail Wiley: Thanks for the comments. The leica is a lovely camera with nice glass but.... It is a studio/art camera. For what it does well, it does very well but it dosn't do well with this. The shutter delay is killing me.

I did have a seat behind the basket for a while till I got ran over. Then I moved.
