photoblog image Still Standing

Still Standing

I did some playing around with this one.  I rather like the result.  It kind of gives this dead old tree some life.

This is really lovely. I love the treatment you've given this.
Gail Wiley: Thank you Mary. Not sure what possesd me. Just felt like playing. So glad you like it.

Very nice picture, and so nice frame work ! Very artistic !
Gail Wiley: Thank you Roland. I have been an artist all my life, only picked up the camera a few years ago. I am finding it to be a great medium.

Not sure about the border but I like the image
Gail Wiley: Actually Stan.... I have been looking at the border myself. I do like it but I am thinking it is two wide. I plan on playing with that some time this week. The more I look at it the more I think it is over powering. However when I remove it, I don't like that either. The border just needs some work.
I really like what you have done, Gail. It does enliven this tree. (:o)
Gail Wiley: Thank you so much. So glad you are enjoying it. Photshop has become a fantastic medium for me.

I LOVE the border, Gail. All of it. A Likey for me!
Gail Wiley: I was just telling Stan I like the border but I am thinking it is to wide. I am thinking of making it a bit lighter and less over powering. What do you think?
This is fabulous work. Straight to likeys. All the best, Dave.
Gail Wiley: Wow, I've been likeyed. This is great. Thanks Dave. (and Ginny)
Ah ! Great job Gail ! There's something of Tim Burton here... very oniric. You're an artist.
Gail Wiley: Thanks Florence. I know I have done my job when someone sees something in the piece. Tim Burton hu? Never thought of that but now that you mention it.....

I like this a lot! A very good way to recycle a shot that wouldn't have been nearly as interesting without the frame.
Gail Wiley: Spot on Martin. Loved the shot when I took it, Loved the elements but just didn't pop. I tried a few filters and finally, it sang.
very creative.. Great effect and framing. Brilliant!!!
Gail Wiley: Thank you so much. I enjoyed doing it.
beautiful illustration gail
Gail Wiley: Thank you. So glad you appreciate it.
I'd like to see this without the black frame, and with it reduced and then decide which was the best. It could take ages. This really has got something Gail
Gail Wiley: Well Bill, when I am done playing, I will be sure to let you in on the results. Thanks for stopping by. I appreciate your comments.

I like your work here, makes so usual subject so different, great choice of PP. Goes into my likeys!
Gail Wiley: You likeyd me. Wow. Thanks so much. Glad to please.
I actually think the photo would work without the border as it is a strong image, or maybe as you say, try the border narrower as it is a bit overpowering.
Ingrid
Gail Wiley: Well stop by tomorrow. I have some different versions on que.
I love what you did with this!
Gail Wiley: Thanks. There has been debate on the border, I am posting some different versions tomorrow.
I repeat, both together play very well! Bravo!
Gail Wiley: Thanks Jose. Glad you are enjoying this series.
